2010 Scottish Ladies Pool Tour Grand Final

Scottish Ladies TourLast 32

First match in event 4 was Kathy Paton against Sandra Bell; Kathy was too strong for Sandra and comfortably booked her place in the last 16 via a 6-1 victory. Vandana Hegde and Kim Black was a match that went to the wire before V managed to book her place in the second round. Katie Paterson defeated new mum Katie Black by 6 frames to 4; Gaynor McHaffie defeated Fiona Herd by 6 frames to 3. Jenny Lawson held her nerve to defeat Shetland’s Anne Irvine by 6 frames to 5. Laura Colquhoun defeated Heather Stewart and Terri Lapsley played very well in defeating Amanda Cutt by 6 frames to 3. Lynsey Selkirk had a fantastic victory over Krystyna Goudie (6-4). Nicola Treanor defeated Lisa Dominick very convincingly by 6 frames to 2 to book her place in the last 16.

Last 16

Elaine Campbell played very well in defeating Kathy Paton by 6 frames to 0; Vandana Hegde defeated ever improving Katie Paterson by 6 frames to 4. Gaynor McHaffie defeated Gillian Hayes in a final frame decider; Yvonne Saunders defeated Jenny Lawson by 6 frames to 4. Laura Colquhoun against Yvonne Ewing was the next match, Yvonne went into a 5-2 lead before Laura clawed her way back into the match, she has a chance to level but missed it to let Yvonne back in to book her place in the quarter finals. Pauline Selkirk played very well in defeating Falkirk’s Terri Lapsley by 6 frames to 2. Lynsey Selkirk looked to be playing very well in defeating Dundee’s Nicola Treanor by 6 frames to 1. This set up a quarter final clash with Linda Gillies who booked her place courtesy of a 6-4 victory over Gemma Clyde.

Elaine Campbell against Vandana Hegde was a match that went all the way to a decider; Elaine secured her place in the semi final against Gaynor McHaffie who defeated Yvonne Saunders by 6 frames to 0. Yvonne Ewing booked her semi final place against Linda Gillies after she defeated Pauline Selkirk by 6 frames to 1 and Linda defeated Lynsey Selkirk by the same score line.

The first semi final was Elaine Campbell against Gaynor McHaffie; Elaine was delighted in booking her place in the final after a very good 6-3 victory. The second semi final was Scotland Ladies Manager against Scotland No. 1 player Linda Gillies, two good friends off the table and a very tough match for both players. Linda was just too good on the day and booked her final place and secured the No. 1 spot for 2011 courtesy of a convincing 6-2 victory.

The final was played between Elaine Campbell and Linda Gillies; yet again it was very pleasing to see a decent amount of spectators watching the final. Linda secured her first tour victory of the season courtesy of a very good 6-3 victory over Elaine. Huge congratulations to Linda in winning the tour and securing the No. 1 ranking position for 2011.

Also special mention to Elaine, it is good to see you back at the business end of a tournament again. Well done!

Another very successful tour event and a big thank you to Gary and the staff at Cue Here in Airdrie for hosting the event and making the ladies feel very welcome. The next tour event is event 5 which excluded a team players; this is being held on 15th January, 2011, once again in Cue Here.
